Last July 20th, All Elite Wrestling filed two new trademarks for a top faction in the company and one of the trademarks is the “Blackpool Combat Club” name, while the other trademark is the group's logo. Both the “Blackpool Combat Club” name and the logo of the group has been filed with the USPTO (United States Patent and Trademark Office) for merchandise and entertainment purposes.
The Blackpool Combat Club is a stable that is made up of ROH World Champion Claudio Castagnoli, Bryan Danielson, ROH Pure Champion Wheeler Yuta, Interim AEW World Champion Jon Moxley and wrestling legend William Regal. The faction's origins began on the February 2nd episode of AEW Dynamite after Moxley's victory over Yuta in Singles action as that is when Danielson proposed to Jon Moxley that they should be fighting together rather than against each other. Moxley and Danielson would continue fighting one another until William Regal made his AEW debut at the 2022 AEW Revolution PPV and slapped both Moxley and Danielson before making them shake each other's hands.
Moxley and Danielson would then compete in their first match together as part of the Blackpool Combat Club on the March 9th episode of AEW Dynamite when they faced and defeated The WorkHorsemen's Anthony Henry and JD Drake. Yuta was then added to the stable after he was defeated by Jon Moxley in a bloody and gruesome match on the April 8th episode of AEW Rampage. The Forbidden Door Event then saw Claudio Castagnoli be added to the faction and they have since been one of the most dominant factions in AEW.
