Each time he has walked into the United Center this season, Chicago Bulls guard and former North Carolina star Coby White has sported a custom hoodie plastered with a modern message. There is messaging in support of not only Civil Rights leaders but support for women and an emphasis on mental health as well. The conveying nature of his clothing has become a trend that’s since been picked up by players at North Carolina.

The team’s Twitter account posted images of its players getting off the team bus with messages calling for equality, a nod to the former point guard. Featured in the photos are Caleb Love, Armando Bacot Jr. and Justin McKoy along with head coach Hubert Davis. Each of them wore different hoodies that vary from inspirational quotes to the story of Claudette Colvin, who refused to give up her seat and was arrested at age 15 as the theme of overcoming silently rang through the still images.

The pictures were posted ahead of UNC’s meeting with rival NC State. Heading into the game, the Tar Heels boasted a record of 20-8 and were winners of their last two, resulting in a 12-5 record against ACC foes.
