Half of it was zero fun and half of it was the best fun. This zero day pretty much involves all the chores with one special event
John has a favorite breakfast place in Breckenridge. Four years ago when I spend a week not being able to walk, he would go down into town each day and get a coffee and bagel sandwich. As the sandwich is now $10 instead of $6- he saved visiting The Crown for a special occasion.
Then for the exciting part of the day. We had very special appointments in Leadville at the Melanzama store.
A Melly is not just any fleece hoodie. It is an exclusive hoodie worn by the most popular thru hikers. You have to go to the store in Leadville or win by lottery the opportunity to have one shipped to you. You can not just buy it online. You also have to have an appointment (we booked two weeks out) or be a thru-hiker. You are also limited to two items only. They are made right there in the store and feel like a cozy hug.
It was awesome playing tourist in Leadville for an afternoon.
Then for the boring stuff. Laundry.

My name is Amanda (trail name Bubble Toes). I met my husband when we thru hiked the AT in 2005, and we have continued to backpack ever since. I am an alcohol free vegetarian (except for crabs - its a Maryland thing) who is hiking the CT this summer. When not hiking, I attempt to teach middle school kids math.
