Local gaming giant Razer has partnered with street fashion brand BAPE once more to release an exclusive line of apparel and gaming peripherals.
The new collection — which was announced on Friday (Jul 15) — marks Razer’s largest collaborative drop ever.
This follows the duo’s previous collaboration in December 2020 which Razer claimed “sold out within seconds”.
Razer’s associate director of business development, Addie Tan said: “Riding on the success of our first partnership, we knew we had a high benchmark to meet, so we prioritised going above and beyond for our community with this new collection.
“This time we are really giving our fans more – more designs, more colourways, and more innovation. This summer, expect to turn some heads in the limited edition A Gaming collection which truly straddles the two worlds of gaming and fashion.”
The draw of the collection is the highly coveted BAPE STA sneakers. It features Razer’s bright green highlights and glows in the dark.
The outsole of the shoes are emblazoned with BAPE’s popular shark design while the sides prominently display the brand’s star-shaped logo alongside Razer’s triple-headed snakes.
Another notable apparel is BAPE’s iconic shark full zip hoodie which incorporates its World Gone Mad motif on the hood and “A Gaming Ape’ logo across the front.
There will also be a separate Quartz version of the hoodie which includes plush kitty ears as a reference to Razer’s Kraken Kitty headset . The hoodies will be priced at US$529 (S$739) each.
Other wearable offerings include basketball sweat shorts, snapback caps and camo tees.
A protective laptop sleeve designed for 15-inch laptops is also part of the collection. The waterproof sleeve will include a built-in collaborative camo-branded mouse mat and will retail for US$79.99 (S$112).
Razer’s Iskur X gaming chair will also get a BAPE redesign and is available in black and quartz with the collaborative camo print.
“Gaming has become a global cultural phenomenon and many global artists and celebrities are embracing it. We expect this trend to continue and to have a major impact on the fashion industry moving forward,” said Akihiro Fukui, general manager of brand business at A Bathing Ape.
The Razer x BAPE collection will drop on Jul 22 on Razer and BAPE’s website respectively, as well as in select stores worldwide.
Each style will be limited to 1337 units.
