ROCKVILLE, MD — Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police are asking the public's help in identifying two people wanted for robbing the Shell Gas Station on Gaither Road in Rockville on July 5, according to a police release.
Officers from MCDP and Rockville City responded around 9:45 p.m., for the report of two suspects robbing the store at gunpoint. Both suspects took a large amount of vape pens and tobacco products from the shelves behind the counter, but no cash was taken, according to police. The two suspects then fled on foot.
Police described the first suspect as a thin man, who was wearing a black hoody adorned with white smiley faces. He also wore a ski mask, pants, and shoes, which were all black, and carried a black sling backpack.
The second suspect was also described by police as being a thin man, who wore a black hoody, with the word "Kings" in white lettering on the front. He also wore a ski mask, pants, and shoes, which were all black.
Police say that both suspects were carrying handguns.
MCDP detectives released photos of the suspects taken from the gas station's surveillance cameras. Anyone with information about this incident or the identity of the two suspects is asked to call the Major Crimes Division at 240-773-5070 or 240-773-TIPS or contact Crime Solvers of Montgomery County toll-free at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477). Anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest of the suspects is eligible for a reward of up to $10,000. Callers may remain anonymous.
