— Deputies were called at 6:25 p.m. Wednesday to Chippewa Trail, Middleton Township, for an alarm drop, but learned it was a false alarm.

— A suspicious person was reported walking on the road on Y & O Road at 11:39 p.m. July 16. The person was located, identified and found to be walking to a family member’s home. The man was walking on the proper side of the road and said he was fine.

– A Wood Street resident reported at 9:19 p.m. Monday his 4-year-old son was missing. A short time later it was discovered the boy’s mother had picked him up but did not tell the complainant.

– An officer was advised at 1:17 p.m. July 17 that two male individuals were at the park causing problems and being disrespectful toward a village employee. The officer found the individuals in question, a 21-year-old adult and 15-year-old juvenile, and told them they were no longer allowed in the park and they will be charged if found there in the future.

– A man reported at 11:12 a.m. July 17 funds were missing from his bank account.

– A Peppercorn Drive resident reported at 12:29 a.m. July 16 a drone was hovering over their property watching the residence and flew off when it had been seen.

– Police received numerous calls from a West Martin Street resident at 10:01 p.m. July 15 stating another man was harassing him.

– A North Sumner Street resident reported at 5:19 p.m. July 15 she had not seen or heard from her adult niece since May 11. The niece was entered into LEADS as a missing person and was later found to be safe by another police agency.

– An officer responded to the 100 block of East Main Street at 10:27 a.m. July 15 in reference to a man yelling for help. The officer checked the entire neighborhood but could not find anyone in distress.

–Officers responded to a residence on the 800 block of West Pershing Street at 2:18 p.m. Tuesday for a wellness check. Officers were able to contact the man.

–An officer responded to the 500 block of East Third Street at 1:01 p.m. Tuesday to assist Columbiana County Children Services in making contact with a woman. Officer made contact with the woman’s son who advised she was in a rehabilitation facility. Children Services spoke with the juvenile further.

–Officers issued a warning to an individual at 1:01 p.m. Tuesday for parking in front of a fire hydrant at Walmart.

–Officers responded to Walmart at 12:47 p.m. Tuesday for reports of a dog inside a vehicle with the windows rolled up. Officers located the owner in the store and had them roll their windows down and advised they could be charged with animal cruelty.

–Officers responded to the 200 block of East Second Street at 12:03 p.m. Tuesday for a report of a suspicious man loitering near the front of several businesses in the plaza. Officers located the man and advised him of the complaint. The individual was known to officers and is frequently observed walking around the city. He agreed to move along and departed the area without incident.

–An officer was approached by a young man in the 400 block of East Second Street at 11:35 a.m. who had found a vehicle key on the ground. The officer took the key back to the police department and placed it in lost and found.

–Officers responded to the 500 block of Hawley Avenue at 11:12 a.m. Tuesday for a wellness check. Officers found the man lives at a different location and responded there. Officers spoke with the man for several minutes and found him to be okay.

–An officer responded to the 1900 block of East State Street at 9:57 a.m. Tuesday for a report of a recovered bike. Officer observed a Blue Mongoose trail bike on the side of the building. The Salem Fire Department responded to pick up the bike and brought it back to the police station until its owner can be located.

–Officers responded to Salem Regional Medical Center at 8:45 a.m. Tuesday to speak with staff regarding a possible bad check issue.

–Officers responded to the 200 block of East State Street at 7:40 a.m. Tuesday to speak with an individual about interfering with businesses. A consensus was reached and officers cleared.

–Officers responded to the 1200 block of South Lincoln Avenue at 6:25 a.m. Tuesday for a wellness check. Officers were unable to contact the individual.

— Officers responded to a business in the 800 block of West Pershing Street at 3:45 a.m. Thursday for a report of multiple suspicious individuals. The individuals were said to have left toward the railroad tracks. Officers searched the area but did not observe anyone.

— Officers responded to the 300 block of West State Street at 2:23 a.m. Thursday for an alarm. Officers checked the building finding it secure.

— Officers responded to the Speedway gas station at 2:10 a.m. Thursday for a report of a man standing outside the gas station for an extended period of time. The man was not in the area when officers arrived.

— While on patrol in the100 block of South Lincoln Avenue at 12:29 a.m. Thursday officers observed a man in a gray hoody with a black backpack walking behind a closed business and looking into a parked vehicle. Officers attempted to contact the man but he had already left the area when they arrived. Officers searched the area finding nothing disturbed.

— Officers responded to a residence on the 400 block of Sharp Avenue at 11:55 p.m. Wednesday for a report of something possibly explosive spilling next to the resident’s refrigerator. The fire department was requested to respond as a precaution. Officers found the resident’s concern to be with her water filter inside the fridge and water was leaking from the fridge. The fire department response was canceled.

— An officer responded to the parking lot behind Speedway for a suspicious vehicle at 11:43 p.m. Wednesday. The caller claimed the vehicle had been there for several days. Officers contacted the owner who claimed to be visiting a friend who lived in the apartment the vehicle was parked behind.

— Officers responded to the Walmart parking lot at 10:56 p.m. Wednesday for a hit and skip. The caller claimed the incident had occurred earlier in the evening at Dunkin Donuts in the parking lot. A red Ford SUV backed into the front of the caller’s vehicle causing minor damage to the front passenger corner and leaving the scene.

— Officers responded to a residence on the 300 block of Fair Avenue at 9:53 p.m. for a suspicious person report. The resident claimed there were two men on his porch. Officers did not observe anyone on the porch. A short time late officers located one of the men who advised they were friends with the resident’s son and were trying to contact him.

— Officers responded to a residence in the 700 block of East Fifth Street at 8:59 p.m. Thursday for a domestic in progress. When officers arrived both parties had calmed down and separated. Both parties advised there had been no threats or physical violence. The woman had already begun to pack some things and was going to leave for the evening once her ride arrived.

— Officers responded to the 1000 block of Cleveland Street at 8:20 p.m. Wednesday for reports of a man in the alley way screaming. Officers found the man at his Hawley Avenue residence, and gave him a disorderly conduct warning, advising to remain at his residence the rest of the evening.

— Officers responded to a residence on the 600 block of Olive Street at 8:10 p.m. Wednesday for two subjects possibly living in the camper there. A notice posted on the door advised the two were allowed to stay on the property and had been living inside a vehicle. The camper and residence were still secured.

–Officers spoke with a woman at the police station at 7:57 p.m. Wednesday for a protection order violation. The woman provided evidence of the violation and a written statement. Investigation and charges are pending.

— Officers responded to the area of South Cunningham Road at 7:56 p.m. Wednesday for a possible wanted subject. Officers made contact and confirmed it was not the wanted man.

— Officers responded to an apartment on the 800 block of East Third Street at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday for a wellness check. The caller claimed he had been unable to contact his daughter. Officers were able to contact the resident who advised she was fine and her phone was not working. Officers had dispatch contact the man and inform him his daughter was fine.

— Officers responded to the 100 block of West State at 7:29 p.m. Wednesday for an anonymous tip of a man in the parking lot with an active warrant. Officers observed the man in question, determining it was not the wanted man.

— An officer responded to the 900 block of West State Street at 6:23 p.m. Wednesday for a littering complaint. The caller advised someone had put four bags of trash by his dumpster. Officer reviewed the security video and was able to obtain a license plate from the vehicle in question.

— Officers responded to the 400 block of Columbia Street at 5:56 p.m. Wednesday for a domestic in progress. Both parties advised they had gotten into a verbal altercation over a pork chop. Both parties advised they would attempt to stay away from each other for the rest of the evening.

— Officers responded to the 2700 block of East State Street at 5:40 p.m. Wednesday for a civil issue. Officers spoke with both parties determining the matter to be a civil issue over a cell phone. After speaking with officers about the issue the cell phone was returned.

— Officers responded to a residence on the 100 block of Fair Avenue at 5:01 p.m. Wednesday for a wellness check at the request of Children Services officers. Officers spoke with the woman who stated they were fine.

— Officers responded to the area of Butcher Road and South Cunningham Road at 4:58 p.m. Wednesday for a report of a possible wanted man. Officers found that it was not the man.

— Officers responded to the 1100 block of East Tenth Street at 2:17 p.m. Wednesday for a report of a smoke investigation. Officers and the fire department found it was cutting concrete.
